Capacity Building Workshop of the Student Change Maker Forum-February,2019

WE CAN organized “Capacity Building Workshop of the Student Change Maker Forum and Network,” by focusing on breaking the chain of action that demoralizes the youth group by providing basic knowledge on human rights and ensuring equal opportunities to women. The program held on 10-13 February 2019 at Aronnyok, Gazipur under Creating Spaces to Take Action on Violence against Women and Girls (CS) Project where hundreds of student took part from 40 districts of Bangladesh. The key objective of the student program is to create the opportunity for the youth group the leaders of tomorrow. Moreover, the workshop is arranged to provide basic knowledge on gender sensitivity and making youth conscious about equal rights of men and women on all spheres of life. Furthermore, the workshop also focuses on the fields like, developing leadership qualities and making youth aware in thematic issues like – Women Empowerment, Fundamentalism, Youth Involvement in Social Development and Change, strengthening campaign of violence against women in district level, making the youth aware about equal gender opportunities and implementation of legal system along with the ideology of being a social activist. MB Akhter, Gender and Development Expert, Asif Munir, Researcher and Activist and Jinat Ara Haque, Women Rights, Gender and Campaign specialist facilitated the session as resource person. Journalist Rita Bhowmic, Banasree Dolli, Youth Specialist Rezwanul Karim participated as guest of honor. Thus, the three day-long workshop has come to an end through dynamic participation of students and by understanding social issues and rights in a collective way.
