Experience on VAWG and Possibilities of Getting Support

On January 26, 2019, WE CAN arranged a round table discussion titled “Experience on VAWG and Possibilities of Getting Support,” under “Creating Spaces to Take Action on Violence against Women and Girls” project aiming on the exposure of violence scenarios and possible opportunities of getting supports for women and girls. The main schemes of the discussions were, the ways women rights are been violated including facing violence in various sphere of areas notwithstanding the support services which are available for them. Thus, the round table discussions were arranged focusing on bridging the junction between the service provider and service seeker.

Director of the Department Social Services, Abdullah Al Mamun, adorned the position of the Chief Guest in the program. Shaheen Anam, Co-Chair of WE CAN facilitated the program as Chair. Besides this there were three special guests who were present in the program. They are, Nazmun Nahar, Gender Manager, Oxfam; Nasimun Ara Haque, President, Bangladesh Nari Sangbadik Kendra; Advocate Mokhlesur Rahman Badal, Chairman, Human Rights & Legal Aid Committee, Bangladesh Bar Council, Dhaka.
