WE CAN Celebrate International Women’s Day, 2024

Amrai Pari Paribarik Nirjaton Protirodh Jot organized oath–taking ceremony and candle vigil program for enlightenment against darkness named "Adhar Vangar Shopoth" to celebrate International Women’s Day 2024. The theme of this year’s celebration is; "Invest in Women: Accelerate Progress". WE CAN organized the program aimed for strong demand to ensure equal participation of women at all the spheres of life ensuring safety and security for women at all places at all hours.

Amrai Pari Jot organized the program in "Central Shaheed Minar, Dhaka" on 07 March at 10.30 pm. The program was followed by cultural program, speech and slogans. Students, provosts, house tutors of five Women’s Hall (Ruquayyah hall, Shamsun Nahar hall, Bangladesh-Kuwait Maitree hall, Bangamata Sheikh Fazilatunnessa Mujib hall, Kabi Sufia Kamal hall) Dhaka University were participated in the program. Representative from domestic worker, gender diversity people, teacher, women activist, development activist delivered their speech to ensure and demand of women rights.

In district level, partner organization of WE CAN, district alliances of WE CAN, student forum of WE CAN also organized the same candle vigil and oath taking program to express their solidarity to end violence against women and girls. Total of 32 district alliances organized "Adhar Vangar Shopoth" to celebrate International Women’s Day 2024. National print and electronic media covered the program; some of them gave live coverage of the program.
