Girls Advocacy Alliance is campaigning for stop child marriage

Think of scenario where the victims take the precaution for themselves by themselves before the incident? What would happen if we call them survivor rather than victims? What would be the scenario if their voice is raised by their own? Amrai Pari Paribarik Nirjaton Protirodh Jot (WE CAN) has been making its path towards the way while believing this theme.

WE CAN implementing a project called Girls Advocacy Alliance (GAA) on the basis of raising awareness against child marriage and disseminate Child Marriage Restrain Act 2017 to stop child marriage with policy makers, Change makers and informal matchmakers as they do not have any established identity and overlooked in the development process of the community. Moreover, WE CAN is also working with the student Change-makers, local influencers (Lawyers, Journalists, CSOs) besides informal matchmakers to create Upazila and union awareness. Furthermore, student Change-makers build an active group against child marriage comprising of 43 students from 15 educational institutions. Again, students formed a forum of student change makers and a Facebook group for communicating and disseminating child marriage and GBV news. On the other hand, local influencers in accompanying with journalists are reporting more child marriage related news to change the present context of Rangpur. Besides, We Can Bangladesh organized campaign program in 6 schools of 6 Upazilas of Rangpur by creating cognizance among approximately of 1500 students and teachers on child marriage and GBV; visited almost 20 educational institutions and arranged a poster campaign with the help of students on Child Marriage and GBV. Thus, Girls Advocacy Alliance (GAA) project has successfully conducted to stop child marriage and empower females in context of Rangpur.
